Presto, a hose that reaches the window. Supposedly DeLonghi says the unit shouldn't be used with a longer hose but I also read that it has an auto-shutoff feature. We'll see if the house burns down, but I digress.

I was actually impressed with the power. For an inexpensive fan, it does a good job. It's not exactly "whisper" quiet, but it sounds like it should - like a fan. Don't expect perfect silence. Very easy to set up and the one-touch temperature controls are very cool, although mine is always set on high since I'm really, really fat and I sweat all the time. Cost effective, the Electronic AccuTemp thermostat helps to maintain your personal comfort level by cycling on or off to maintain the set temperature. Model HAWF3095-U.People who favor fans over air conditioners like to feel a house breathe. A good window fan is a real blessing to a fan person, and doubly so if that fan can be set to blow in two directions. Double the benefits yet again if that window fan has two fan blades, each of which can be set either in or out. The Holmes HAWF3095 window fan has those quadrupled benefits, and then some. I had a Sharp unit that finally gave out and when searching Amazon I found this new DeLonghi air conditioner with eco-friendly refrigerant. I have always liked DeLonghi products for their stylish looks and this air conditioner is no execption.
I have a metal roof with vaulted ceilings and when it gets hot the upstairs loft gets about 10* hotter than the rest of the house and since this is where I sleep I need some extra comfort. I discovered that my system had a leak that would cause me to refill it about once a month. I had a buddy come by who is an HVAC tech. He brought his sniffer and we couldn't locate the leak. I live in Pittsburgh and we do get some heat here in the summer. Small apartment in a 60 year solidly built building. I have been running this machine during the day for over 2 weeks now and I love it. I am not a big fan of really cold air-conditioning and so far this unit does not make my place a freezer, but makes it extremely comfortable considering the shape of my apartment, i am cooling about 630 sq ft with bedroom and bathroom doors closed. So it is a little over its recommended cooling area, but for my needs, it is more than great.

Now, one thing about draining the water out of the unit.....I haven't. Was delivered on July 6th and as I said above, it has been on all day since then. I hardly run it at night as once my place is in my comfort zone, it stays that way all night. I have not had to empty any water and it has been humid here. I bought this 9000 BTU Arua for my bedroom after doing many hours of study. I installed it myself and paid $69.00 to have the unit evacuated. Turned it on and what a surprise, it's not just quite it's Ultra Quite. You can hear it on full blast but not much. It's runs on low 99% of the time. FYI Home Depot supplied the black rubber insulated 14-4 com wire between the Air handler and Condenser. It's about $1.25 a foot. Then to make it look pretty, you'll need the Line Set cover by Rectorseal. They can be bought here in Amazon. And finally the customer support is awesome, just call their number 800-242-4935 Ex 25 and you will get most of your answers.

I bought this little gem a few weeks ago. I travel extensively with a travel trailer, and when my partner is driving, I like to be on my 17" MacBook Pro. I allowed my battery to drain to 50%, then plugged into the Duracell 175. Initially, the inverter kept cycling on and off. I strung my MackBook cable over the sun visor so the inverter was hanging in front of the air conditioner vent. It stopped cycling on and off, and it completely recharged my battery while using the MacBook. The following day, I put a few strips of Velcro on the back of the inverter, careful to not cover the cooling vent, a few of the opposite velcro strips on the side of an air conditioner vent and wa-la. This little unit has no problem keeping up with using the MacBook Pro, and charging the battery at the same time. I'm totally delighted with this unit, and you can't beat the price.

Great remote outlets, but the switches are misleading
These outlets work as expected, they can switch lamps, fans, and other devices wirelessly throughout the house. The range is great, I plugged several in around the house and was able to control all of them from anywhere in my house (though it's a fairly small house). The switches on the front allow you to switch on and off each outlet without the remote, and the status LED's show power and whether the outlet is on or off. One thing I find a little disappointing (the reason I didn't give 5 stars) is that the switches are toggle switches. Each button has only one switch under it (I took the remote apart to sniff the protocol). This means you can't send ON or OFF, only able to switch between ON/OFF with one button. If you want to be able to switch devices without being able to see them (for instance, turning off an attic fan or outdoor light) get a different kit. This converter worked perfectly for me. My wife and I were making an 8-hour drive for the Thanksgiving holiday and wanted to have power for a 13" MacBook Pro and our iPhones. The inverter did exactly what you would expect - it charged our devices! It's pretty handy that this device has two plugs AND the USB port, and that's one of the reasons I picked it over some of the other similar models. However, be sure that if you use both plugs, the combined power requirements of the devices do not exceed 200 watts.

And that brings me to the next point. I specifically bought a less expensive, smaller model because 200 watts was more than adequate for our needs, so it didn't make sense to spend more for a 400W+ model that would likely be larger, louder and hotter than this one.
