So as preventitive measure, i ordered this Packard C140A single pole 40amp contactor. It was slightly different but the mouting plate was identical so it screwed right in. Only different in this one was the main L1/L2 and T1/T2 terminals are screw in terminals (where you stick the wire in the slot/hole and screw it down). My original one had ones where it was a ring crimped based connector. So I just cut that ring crimp off and stripped the wire back some and put that into the slot/hole and screwed it down.
This is the cheapest you will find it anywhere. Normally these run around $20+. Here it is $10 shipped, cant go wrong with that. Excellent replacement and works perfectly.

great product and great price. i put 40 amp contacter in place of my 30 amp rated contactor that only lasted one and a half years and the contacts were shot. this 40 amp one had the same coil voltage [ 24 volt] and bolted on with same bolt pattern.got me through cooling season, and so far no problems, and the price was so low i ordered another just in case there's a problem in the future.even having bought two , by installing this myself, i haven't even spent a fraction of what my repairman charges for a service call, let alone what he would charge for the part and install. i'm very pleased with my purchase.
