We just purchased this Friedrich SM21N30 20500 btu - 230 volt - 9.4 EER Kuhl series room air conditioner, using the price cut and the cost-free shipping after reading a few of the prior testimonials prior to buying the item. Up until now so excellent. I am totally in love with this item from Friedrich, Made it the very best rate on the web when we purchased it initially of this month.
Excellent build quality
The SM21N30 is a solid unit with unmatched build quality. It is very efficient and very quiet when used to the low fan setting. I only purchase Friedrich A/C units because the are the only company who still builds in North America, at least the Kuhl models. Yes they are expensive but you get what you pay for. The only disappointment was in the shipping. The last unit I ordered from Amazon came badly damaged and Amazon was not able to replace it in quick time frame. They did however have the unit shipped back at no cost to me and issued me a refund. I then ordered the unit from another vendor, Alpine Home Aire who takes extreme care in shipping. It's a shame that Amazon has no control over UPS or FedEx and the very poor concern they have for the items they ship.

Most Underlined Buyer Review : Service please
It arrived a week ago and was installed by a contractor I hired. Then I noticed that one washer at the back of the unit was missing. I asked the contractor who said there was only one inthe package. There is a yellow sheet of paper that says that if anything is missing to call them. So I did. I told the company representative that I needed a washer sent. Then he asked, "anything else about the machine?" There was a small piece of styrofoam stuck inside that had gotten caught on the grill that is on the inside side of the unit. The representative told be how to open that area and take out the small piece of styrofoam. This is about 2 inched by three inches by in inch think. He then said he was sending a technician to inspect the machine and put the washer on! I said I thought that was not necessary. He thought the styofoam could have damaged the fan! I also told him about a sliding post that is recessed in the front grill, which is used to switch the flow of air...
