I did have some issues after reviewing some of the prior testimonials prior to purchasing the unit. After making use of the unit now for time I can say I've had zero concerns and the unit has done perfect. We simply purchased this Whynter Exhaust Hose for Portable Air Conditioner Models ARC-13S and ARC-13W (ARC-EH-13), utilizing the price cut and the cost-free shipping. Made it the best price on the internet when we bought it first of this month.
Universal
From what I can tell, this 5" type flex hose is pretty universal across portable air conditioner vent hoses. I bought this as a replacement, or Frankenstein extension, to my DeLonghi unit purchased from Lowe's, which only came with a 4' (3' maybe?) hose. This hose seemed to have the PVC fittings glued on so I cut them below the fitting, snipped the wire and threaded the DeLonghi fittings on (The fittings on the DeLonghi unit just 'unscrew' off the hose). Presto, a hose that reaches the window. Supposedly DeLonghi says the unit shouldn't be used with a longer hose but I also read that it has an auto-shutoff feature. We'll see if the house burns down, but I digress.
