Best (Non-Antiperspirant) Deodorant
I do not like antiperspirant deodorants, have tried many, and they (a) are not very effective and/or (b) they leave a bunch of white residue. Also, I've found other brands to sting or simply not be effective.

This Right Guard deodorant is very effective, lasts all day, has a good cologne smell, and does not sting. I've used the regular Right Guard Sport deodorants and they are good, probably 4 stars. Then they had the "power stripe" version, probably 4.5 stars. This 'newer' one of theirs is definitely 5 stars. I recently bought another 6 pack of them. (I keep 1 in the office, 1 in gym bag, 1 in swim bag, 1 in travel bag, and at least 1 at home of course.)

Most Underlined Buyer Review : Probably biased
First note: This item is HUGE. It is very nearly the size of a dorm refrigerator...possibly taller.
Second note: This item is loud, but NOT in a bad way. It has the steady fan-generated-white-noise thing going on. If the unit is between you and the exhaust, it seems quieter, but if you can see where the exhaust exits (re: window fitting) you will hear both the unit and the air in the exhaust pipes.
Third note: It is not immediately clear whether you're supposed to use the drainage hose in AC mode, or JUST in dehumidifier. As luck would have it, the answer is yes...you need to drain while cooling.

That being said, I am completely in love with this big lug. It was over 95 outside when I brought it in. It was over 90 *inside* when I tore into the box. It was roughly 10 minutes of girl-reading-instructions-holding-screwdriver after that. Ten minutes later, I turned it on, and let'er rip.

Great a/c
After going through 3 other a/c's this summer (a frigidaire that arrived broken, another that was the wrong voltage and an LG from a few years ago that finally bit it) I spent the extra $ and went with a fredrich. The unit takes about an hour to install, you have to slide the chassis off and mount the unit to the window (be sure to follow the instructions!) what you see when you slide the unit out from its housing is what makes this ac different. Solid commercial grade fan and compressor, a vent to take in outside air, totally solid construction.
After installing and turning it on the unit cooled off my place in about 15 min (about 550 sq. ft.) and it keeps the temp consistent. It's not the quietest unit I've heard but it's acceptable and I can easily watch a movie w the unit running in the same room.
Finally, this ac looks really nice. Love that the controls are hidden under a flip up panel. Totally modern and clean...

Well, after doing a lot of research and checking out the testimonials right here and somewhere else, I decided to buy Filtrete Micro Allergen Reduction Filter, 1000 MPR, 20-Inch by 25-Inch by 1-Inch, 6-Pack. Though I 'd have preferred a better guarantee, I chose the attributes were appealing enough to try it. It is a lot of cash to throw away if it falls short just after the guarantee. I was using the Filtrete dark blue 1500 rated filters and thought they were great. But eventually I found the air flow was less and less and then it almost stopped altogether. I had to call my Heat/ AC guys and they told me that if I used the higher rated filter (1500 or so, different for each system), the one that 'stopped' more allergens/ dust/ etc, that these high rated ones fill up quickly with all the gunk the catch, and that they can slow down the air flow so much that it may cause your heat/ AC machinery to overheat and damage itself.

He switched me to the red Filtretes- they are rated 1000 and not 1500. If you truly need higher levels of filtration, make sure your heat/ ac system can handle it, and maybe you have to change the filters more often (the really highly rated filters grab EVERYTHING so all the dust etc builds up much more quickly and could block the...
